Little Miss Sunshine has visited Reception this week!
We have been thinking of describing words that we can use when talking about Little Miss Sunshine and have been making paper plate sunshines to brighten up our classroom, as well as collages about what makes us happy.
We have been discussing why sunshine is important and the role it plays in helping plants to grow. The children were encouraged to think about the changes in seasons that we have observed since September and the coming season... Spring!
As well as this, to support our teaching of Philosophy for Children, we have enjoyed a class debate. The children had to decide whether Little Miss Sunshine should have broken the rules in Miseryland, which resulted in everyone learning how to be happy and have fun, or whether she shouldn’t have broken the rules, which would have resulted in everyone staying miserable forever!
We made a choice and then listened to our peers about their reason, then reflected on whether we would change our mind after considering other points of view.
