Upon arrival, the Kindergarten children were warmly greeted by the team at Gatton Park. After a quick snack pit stop, we began our first workshop - The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We read the story together before searching for caterpillars, creating our own story timelines using pictures, and foraging for all of the foods the hungry caterpillar wanted to eat. Of course, we had to finish by turning ourselves into one giant caterpillar and chomping our way through an enormous pear!
The children thoroughly enjoyed their picnic lunch in the sunshine before moving on to our second workshop - The Big Bad Fish. We listened to the story, created our own tadpoles, and then headed outside for some exciting pond dipping.
Finally, we returned to make beautiful crowns decorated with all of the creatures we had spotted during the day.
It was a fantastic trip filled with storytelling, exploration, creativity, and lots of smiles!
