This week, Reception were very lucky to welcome two special visitors into the classroom – an eye doctor and an anaesthetist. They spoke to the children about how doctors help patients before an operation, including the two different ways people can go to sleep for surgery, as well as explaining the procedure for eye surgery in a very gentle and child-friendly way.
The children were fascinated by the equipment and loved pretending to be patients getting ready for an operation. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about real-life medical roles through hands-on play and discussion, and they were incredibly engaged throughout the visit.
A very big thank you to Kasper's mother and Diara's mother for giving up their time to come in to school to talk to us about their careers - we all really enjoyed it.
