Reception have been reading the Little People, Big Dreams series of books to learn about the life and work of Sir David Attenborough. We have loved hearing about his many adventures and discoveries, as well as watching clips to bring our learning to life. The children have also spent time thinking about how we can all help to look after our world and protect animals for years to come.
As part of our learning, we have read a range of books, explored different habitats and searched our Forest School area for types of creatures that live there, created collaborative class artwork, designed posters to raise awareness, and made beautiful sea creature artwork to remind us of some of the animals that need our help.
To celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, the children enjoyed icing ‘Earth’ shortbread biscuits and having a special tea party on the Bund!
Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David 🥳
